The memory of a simple and relaxing break near the beach was so strong, we booked all four yurts for Christmas week. The friends who came were accustomed to backpacking and camping, so found the amenities at the yurts perfect for an easy getaway in winter – no having to haul gear other than fishing rods, stand up paddle boards, and beach toys.
If you have a car, daytrips to El Triunfo, Cabo Pulmo, the waterfalls near Santiago and grocery runs and meals in Los Barriles are very easy.
We had some friends stay next door at the Buena Vista Hotel – they enjoyed having pools, a restaurant, and more resort-like amenities. We were able to join them for happy hour and a dinner, but were always happy to return to our fun and funky (in a good way) yurts. Many of us have vowed to return in future years.
